Sedu vs Solia - Which Is The Best Flat Iron?
by Robin OBrien
Sedu and Solia flat irons are two of the most popular brands. They share many similar features, incorporate the latest technology and are top rated flat irons loved by consumers the world over. But are there any differences? And which is the best flat iron: Sedu or Solia?
Before we compare the Solia flat iron with that of the Sedu flat iron, we'll first list off some of the main features shared by both. Sedu flat irons come with two different plate widths: 1-½ and 1 inch. Solia flat irons come with four different plate widths but its 1-¾ and 1-¼ inch models are its most popular and as these roughly match the plate sizes of the Sedu, so we'll compare these models against Sedu.
Both the Sedu and Solia flat iron come with tourmaline plates. If you're going to buy a flat iron you must buy a model with tourmaline plates. Basically, tourmaline gives off negative ions, which have been shown to lock in moisture into the hair follicle and help to straighten hair without excessive heat damage. Both Sedu and Solia are American-designed flat irons, though both are actually manufactured in the Far East. Both come with 1-year warranties. Both have quick heat-up times of less than 30 seconds.
Both the Sedu and Solia flat iron come with variable settings. However, the Solia just nudges ahead because its heat setting ranges from 140F - 450F, whereas the Sedu flat iron has a slightly narrow range: 240F - 410F.
When it comes to weight the Sedu wins out over the Solia flat iron. The Sedu 1" tourmaline flat iron is 0.5lbs whereas the Solia 1 ¼" tourmaline flat iron weighs in at 1.2lbs. Weight does make a difference because when straightening your hair the flat iron you use will start to feel heavier and heavier.
You may not be too interested in what the flat iron looks like, but f you are, the Solia tourmaline flat iron looks far more stylish that the Sedu. The Solia has a better, more contoured design, than does the Sedu.
The above are minor differences and neither Sedu nor Solia come out on top. However there are two further reasons why the Solia Ceramic Ion Flat iron comes out the clear winner: the Dynamic Alignment System used by Solia flat iron and its price.
The Dynamic Alignment System used in the Ion ceramic plates of a Solia flat iron is self-adjusting, which helps to provide perfect contact between hair and plate. This means that hot spots are avoided that can cause damage to hair. The Dynamic Alignment System also works as a pressure equalizer that helps avoid any specific pressure points during the straightening process, thereby allowing the Solia flat iron to work through the hair smoothly without pulling.
There's no avoiding the price differential between a Solia and Sedu flat iron. A Solia tourmaline flat iron is about three-quarters the cost of its comparable Sedu flat iron. Both the Sedu and Solia flat iron are quality products and are amongst the best flat irons you can buy. But quality flat irons aren't cheap and the consumer wants value for money, so the price difference between the two brands make the Solia Professional Ion Ceramic flat iron a clear winner.

Celebrity Hairstyles
by Marcus Grant
If you flip through a magazine, go to the movies or watch television, you have probably seen some celebrity hairstyles that are stunning (and maybe some that are not). Most people have celebrity hairstyles that they would like to imitate, but assume that copying celebrity hairstyles requires perfect locks or spending a fortune at a hair salon.
Although there is nothing quite like a professionally set hairstyle, it is possible to imitate many of the looks you see on the runway and in the media. All that is required is patience, persistence, a good eye and the right equipment and techniques.
Almost all starlets have their own version of the sedu, one of the most popular celebrity hairstyles. The sedu is a straight look, and many of these straight hair dos are "messy" and have a "blown" look to them, although some are sleek. Jennifer Anniston is the actress who made the sedu look famous, and she has an advantage with her naturally ruler-straight locks.
However, you can have naturally curly and wavy hair and still achieve sedu-perfect straightness with a flat iron. To have a look like Jennifer Anniston's, apply the following techniques:
* Shampoo and condition hair (conditioner is especially important, since it tames curls and waves)
* Brush your hair flat and apply gel
* Blow dry your hair with a round brush. Point the barrel of the dryer downard to avoid frizzing and waving
* Take one inch wide sections of your hair and press it flat with a sedu iron. If you want a perfectly straight "do" do not flip at the ends, or you can flip the hair or out by twisting the ends around the flat iron.
Reese Witherspoon sported one of the most memorable celebrity hairstyles at the academy awards. Her elegant chignon elicited as much comment as her spectacular performance. A chignon is not difficult to shape, and is formed by a ponytail that is perched just a few inches off the neck.
The chignon is good for long to medium length hair, since the "pony" requires enough hair to be formed into a roll.
*Shampoo and condition hair (you might want to do this the day before the big occasion, since freshly washed pony's are more difficult to style) *Rinse out the conditioner and follow with a cool rinse for shine *Towel dry and apply a leave-in conditioner *Dry with a blowdryer and a paddle brush *Form a ponytail at the nape of the neck and divide the pony into three sections *Curl the pony sections with a curling iron and pin the curls until they are cool *Brush the pony gently and wrap it around the elastic band, arranging it to the right size and shape.
Keira Knightley's new super-short "pixie do" became an overnight sensational celebrity hairstyle, although some felt it was a bit drastic. Still, she has the eyes and the perfect face for a pixie do.
You don't have to be a Keira look-a-like to look good in a pixie; if your face is somewhat oval, it is a good style.
*The stylist should form the back into a "wedge shape" *Leave generous bangs in front for a feminine look, and to emphasize the eyes *Adjust the bangs according to your mood. You might want to curl them or to straighten them with a sedu iron.
The Pixie style is a sassy look which is quite attractive, and is a good style for summer.
Paris Hilton sported some elegant sedu bobs until she sheared most of her locks. What she will do with her super-short hair now, remains to be seen, but you can re-create her signature bobs with a sedu iron, gently flipping the ends inward or outward according to your mood. Paris also wore her hair sometimes in a half-up, half-down, asymmetrical style. Experiment with pulling parts of your hair up and leaving them down according to your mood.

The Keys to a Successful Sedu Hair Cut
by Jared Winston
Everyone knows what a problem it can be to have a failed attempt at a hair cut. Perhaps you were going for a certain style but it just did not quite achieve the look you had been hoping for. Perhaps you succeeded in getting the right look, only to find out that the look you wanted did not actually look particularly good on you. Maybe your look was successful at first, but your hair decided to rebel against you and your hairstyle went awry.
In any case, a bad hair cut has the potential to cause any number of problems in your social and professional life. With a Sedu hair cut, you are certainly starting out with an advantage over many other people, but it is by no means a guarantee that your intended style will be what you end up with. For that reason, it is important to keep in mind a few basic keys to a successful Sedu hair cut.
First and foremost, you should remember that a Sedu hair cut will be highly interactive with your face. This may sound kind of bizarre, but it is most certainly the truth. When working with curlier hair, you can rely on the fullness and body of the hair to achieve a good look. However, when your hair is straight, it brings much more focus to framing the shape of your face. This means that you may want to experiment a bit with different ways of styling your hair to compliment the shape and features of your face. While this can be somewhat difficult to get the hang of at first, it is very much worth the effort in the end, as you will end up with a hair cut that really features your face.
This means that you may have to spend some time developing your ideal Sedu hair cut. For instance, you might want to start out with a few different varieties of fairly long hairstyles and see how they look on you. Then, if you do not think that look is quite right for you, you might try a few mid-length haircuts as a change of pace. Finally, if mid-length hair does not seem to suit you, you can always try wearing your hair quite short.
One of the great advantages of having a Sedu hair cut is the sheer flexibility you have to work with. That is, you can wear your hair at any length that fits your style, and in a number of different ways, and no single style could really be considered to be the right way. This means that you can even change your Sedu hair cut frequently if you get tired of a particular style or length. Simply rework it, cut it a little sorter, or let the ends curl out a bit, and you can entirely change the way your hair looks. This also means that, no matter what shape of face you might have, you can engineer a Sedu style for you.

Sedu Reviews - Keeping Your Hair Healthy
by Oliver Turner
Sedu reviews claim that the sedu hair straightener can help to maintain the health of your hair. In this article we see just how true these sedu reviews are.
Many of you have heard of the latest craze; the sedu hair straightener that is taking over the hairstyle scene and many of you have probably read all the rave sedu reviews that seem to be appearing everywhere you look. The internet, magazines, news reports, let's face it the sedu hair straightener seems to be everywhere at the moment.
When reading through all the sedu reviews, I began to think that this product seemed a little too good to be true, and I wanted to find out exactly what this product does to your hair. I know it straightens it, but so do all the other ceramic hair straighteners on the markets. What I really wanted to know was what effect the sedu hair straightener has on the health of your hair. Is it really as good as it seems.
The Truth Of The Sedu Hair Straightener Testing
To begin my research into hair health and the sedu hair iron I began checking out various beauty and hair websites, especially those that provided sedu reviews. Many of these sedu beauty tips websites actually has message forums which is a great way to find out the truth. I began asking questions and below is what I managed to find out.
All the people questions stated that the sedu hair iron left their hair feeling soft, silky, and looking healthier than before. Investigations showed that this was due to the presence of tourmaline in the ceramic plates of the sedu hair straightener which helps to produce negative ions which leave you hair smoother and softer and help to seal in your hairs own natural moisture. This is something you won't get with regular ceramic straighteners.
The sedu reviews also claimed that the sedu hair iron won't pull or break your hair during use. This it seems is due to the sedu ceramic hair staighteners even surface. Having asked a number of sedu hair iron users if this was true they all seemed to have the same answer; there was no breakage and no pulling. Great news for healthy hair wouldn't you say?
Sedu reviews also claim reduced straightening time which has to be a plus for any user. Not only that, but with the reduced hair straightening time that the sedu hair straightener provides there is less damage being caused to your hair. This was also confirmed by my panel of expert users.
As you can see, the sedu hair iron does live up to those sedu reviews you read and for your hair and its health this has to be a bonus. I'm not saying that the sedu hair straightener won't cause any hair damage; after all we all know that excessive use of any styling product will cause damage. All I'm saying is that compared with other ceramic straighteners the sedu hair iron causes less hair damage, thus maintaining more of your hair's health.
